Ferris Wheel

This Ferris Wheel is a German model of the Jupiter, a real one located in Germany. It was built in 1993 by the company Nauta-Bussink and has a diameter of 50 meters carrying 36 open cars with a capacity of 6 persons each. The kit is lighted and rotates like the real thing but I do not as yet have the motor wired for operation. This kit was the most challenging HO model I have ever undertaken. Each of the 36 cars required 14 separate plastic parts and 18 separate decals. It took me about 3 weeks to complete and even then, I made one big mistake which causes the wheel to wobble a bit as it turns. To improve the operation, I weighted each car with lead BB shot and added seated passengers on most of them.
