Petroglyph in Nine Mile Canyon
Some of the most spectacular rock art in Utah is to be found in Nine Mile Canyon which begins about 20 miles north of Wellington. The canyon is actually 40 miles long, and is home to numerous rock art panels, most of which were created by the Fremont Indians who occupied this area between 700 A.D. and 1250 A.D.
This is the famous 'Hunter' panel, which has miraculously avoided the vandalism visited upon numerous other petroglyphs in the canyon. |
