Site 9

This is the first location in Nine Mile Canyon with rock art panels that can be seen from the road. But if you have overlooked the Minnie Maud bridge, and if you do not have a GPS unit and/or do not have a copy of the Spangler book, you should either go back to the bridge and reset your odomenter to zero or reset it here at Site 9 and add 4.9 miles to all other distances given here from Sites 10 through 18, to the intersection of Argyle Canyon and Nine Mile Canyon road. Site 9 is easily found, as you will see a sign posted on the right side of the road and the left side seems to barred with a log fence. However, there is a small opening in that fence, allowing access to the petroglyph panels there. I should also add that the best panel is the one at the bottom of this page and it is about 30 feet left and at the second level above the other ones at ground level.
