Site 74
Site 74 is about 0.37 miles from the intersection of Cottonwood Canyon road and Nine Mile Canyon road and consists of at least three panels, The two panels just below have small figures on them and the lower one, which is almost at ground level, has suffered from erosion. The top figure here is very high above the road and is nearly impossible to see without binoculars but contains some very well defined figures, including two people, sheep, and what is likely elk. But there is no obvious place there for the author to stand when creating this petroglyph. The bottom two vertical photos display the panel described in the Spangler book and point out its location at the bottom of the second cliff level.
This photo shows the location of the main panel described in the book but the arrow is a little too low; the panel is actually a foot or two above the arrow. | This panel is the one described in the Spangler book for site 74 but take note that there are other figures to the lower left of the panel, easily seen here. |
