Site 58

Site 58 is about 3.1 miles from Gate Canyon and is the only site of something other than rock art that I have included in these web site pages because it is right beside the road. This is the remains of a stone cabin built by one of the early settlers in Nine Mile Canyon. If you have the Spangler book or at least have seen a photo of site 58 in that book, you may notice that some of the stones in that other photo are not in this one below. It seems that visitors have carried off some of them over the years and only the photos survive to show what was once a historic location in Nine Mile Canyon, to all of our detriment.
