B-17

The B-17 bomber was called the Flying Fortress because of all the defensive guns that had been installed aboard. It has also been called the 'most famous' bomber of world war II although some might argue otherwise. At the outbreak of the European war in August of 1939, only 30 existed, and 20 of those were delivered to the Royal Air Force in England. It was soon realized that extensive improvements in armor and armament were needed and the 'F' version of the plane was made in large quantities, which eventually reached 3,400 units. Further improvements in protection were then added to the 'G' version, of which 8,680 units were manufactured during the late years of the war by Boing, Douglas, and Lockheed.

My model of the B-17 does not have the correct color scheme and I apologize for that. But elsewise, it is a pretty accurate representation of the plane
