Oh, in the Tower of London, large as life,
The ghost of Ann Boleyn walks, they declare.
Poor Ann Boleyn was once King Henry's wife -
Until he had the headsman bob her hair!
Hhe did her wrong these many years ago,
And she comes up at night to tell him so.

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour - (wild wolf howls here.....)

She comes to haunt King Henry, she means giving him 'what for',
Great Scott, she's going to tell him off for having spilt her gore.
And just in case the headsman wants to give her an encore
She has her head tucked underneath her arm!

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour- (wild wolf howls here....)

Along the draughty corridors for miles and miles she goes,
She often catches cold, poor thing, it's cold there when it blows,
And it's awfully awkward for the Queen to blow her nose
With her head tucked underneath her arm!

Now and then, King Henry throws a spread
For all his pals and gals - a ghostly crew.
The headsman carves the joint and cuts the bread,
Then in comes Ann Boleyn to 'queer' the 'do';
She holds her head up with a wild war whoop,
Then Henry cries 'Don't drop it in the soup!'

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour.

The sentries think that it's a football that she carries in,
And when they've had a few they ask 'Is Army going to win?'
They think it's Red Grange, instead of poor old Ann Boleyn
With her head tucked underneath her arm!

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour.

One night she caught King Henry, he was in the Castle Bar.
Said he 'Are you Jane Seymour, Ann Boleyn or Catherine Parr?
For how the sweet san fairy ann do I know who you are
With your head tucked underneath your arm!'

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour - (the wildest and loudest wolf howls!!)

My wife and I live all alone
In a little log hut we call our own;
She loves gin and I love rum,
And don't we have a lot of fun!

Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, how I love thee!
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little brown jug, how I love thee!

When I go working on the farm
I take the jug under my arm;
Put it down under a tree,
And little brown jug,'tis you and me.

(Chorus)

'Tis you that makes me friends and foes,
'Tis you that makes me wear old clothes;
And seeing you're so near my nose,
I tip her up and down she goes.

(Chorus)

If all the folks in Adam's race
Were gathered just in one old place,
I'd let them go without a tear
Before I'd part from you, my dear.

(Chorus)

If I'd a cow that gave such milk,
I'd dress her in the finest silk;
Feed her on the finest hay,
And milk her twenty times a day.

(Chorus)

You and me and the little brown jug
Crossed the crick on a hickory log.
The log rolled over and we fell in -
All I saved was a jug of gin.

(Chorus)

And when I die don't bury me at all,
Just pickle my body in alcohol;
Put a jug at my head and feet
And then I know that I will keep.

(Chorus)

The rose is red, my nose is too,
The violet's blue and so are you;
And yet, I guess, before I stop,
We'd better take another drop.

(Chorus)

(To really understand this song, one must read the story
of the Great Prehistoric Giant Bull Muek, elsewhere in
the annals of Erwin. Look for a link on this web site.)

I was walkin' in the swamp one dark and moonless night
When 'bought the hour of midnight I sure beheld a sight:
The heavens seem to come alive and right before my eyes,
A ghostly herd of bull Muek came chargin' through the skies.

Whoopy ti ohhhhhhhhhh, whoopy ti aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ghost bull Muek in the skies........

Now I was much to scared to move, I couldn't turn and run.
So I just stood and watched them Muek a comin' one by one.
They tore across the stary way and as they thundered by,
I suddenly became afraid that I was gonna die.

Whoopy ti ohhhhhhhhhh, whoopy ti aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ghost Muek herd in the skies........

Their fiery breath was lightning and the rumble of their feet
Swept through my soul and soon it turned me whiter than a sheet.
I've never known before or since such fear as I knew then.
It was enought to scare to death a hundred thousand men.

Whoopy ti ohhhhhhhhhh, whoopy ti aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ghost bull Muek in the skies........

And as I stood there shiverin' a specre caught my eye -
Them ghostly Muek was chasin' a man across the sky.
And as I recognized him, I prayed it couldn't be
'Cause the man that they was chasin' looked an awful lot like me.

Whoopy ti ohhhhhhhhhh, whoopy ti aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ghost Muek herd in the skies........

And suddenly, they disappeard and suddenly I sighed.
And suddenly I sat right down and suddenly I cried.
I vowed right then that if I never saw another spook,
I'd never, never hunt or kill another giant Muek.

Whoopy ti ohhhhhhhhhh, whoopy ti aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Ghost bull Muek in the skies........
