This book is a genealogical record of the descendants of John Spears
Erwin, who was born in St. Lawrence Co, New York, on the 19th of Aug., 1807.
The information contained herein is necessarily incomplete since, despite
my best efforts, much is yet to be discovered.
There is also the possibility of error, and although I have made every
effort to be accurate, mistakes do occur, in original records, in the minds of
reporting individuals, and in my transcribing of these records to this document.
I can only state that this document is as correct as I have been able to
make it, and if errors are discovered and made known to me, they will be
corrected in future editions.
I should like to express my deep appreciation to all those who have
helped to gather this information. Without
intentionally slighting anyone who has contributed, I should like to especially
thank Mr. John Erwin, of Electric City, Washington, and my mother, Mrs. B. L.
Erwin, to whom this book is dedicated, and without whom, this book might never
have been written. Her passion for
genealogy has been an inspiration to me, and her years of work have saved me
incalculable hours of time. I
should also like to thank posthumously my Aunt Mildred, who sparked my interest
many years ago, and who was also a great contributor to this work.
Any person or persons who might wish to write me regarding this record
may do so at the following address, and I welcome any and all contributions, be
they additions, deletions, or corrections.
I plan to print more editions of the book as it becomes practical and as
the changes warrant.
