Commemorative Dollar
1983 to present

In 1986 Congress authorized the issue of this dollar coin containing 90% silver to commemorate Ellis Island and the statue of liberty. It is the only commemorative dollar in the U.S. Types book, but does a good job of representing the type.

I apologize for not having taken a photo of the reverse side of the coin.
This cost me $10 and is worth about $20 today. As the value of silver increases, so will the value of this coin.
