NGC 6811

NGC 6811 is a very loose open cluster in Cygnus that contains about 70 10th and 11th magnitude stars spanning about 15 minutes of arc in the sky. The cluster is approximately 3500 light years from Earth and is estimated to be about 700 million years old.

Image taken July 25, 2012, with the C-14 operating at F:3.5 and the ST-8 camera binned 2 X 2. Exposure was 5 minutes.
