M10

M10 is one of the brighter globular clusters, being just below naked-eye visibility. At a distance of 14,300 light-years, it spans more than half the width of the full moon in the sky although only long-exposure photographs reveal the outer portions of its structure. The actual size of the cluster is fairly standard, being slightly more than 80 light-years in diameter.
